Biomechanics

Biomechanics is like the love child of mechanics and biology.

Okay, that’s not very clear… Essentially it is the study of the movement of living things, meaning it applies mechanical principles from physics to our biological understanding of an organism.

In the case of sports biomechanics the organism is generally a human doing sports. (Note: here the word ‘generally’ is only used to cover my back in case it turns out someone has tried to study mice playing footbal or something.)

Each of my posts will look at a different sport, investigaitng the biomechanical principles and seeing how these can be applied to improve performance. Basically, I want to work out how to hack sport with science.
